Svend Hammershøi (1873–1948) was a Danish artist and ceramicist best known for his long-standing collaboration with Kähler´s in Næstved. He created iconic vases and bowls characterized by strong silhouettes and deep fluting, often finished in the distinctive greyblack double glaze—a dark, richly layered glaze known for its depth and lustre. Hammershøi's work blends classical forms with innovative surfaces and has become emblematic of Danish ceramic modernism. He was the brother of the painter Vilhelm Hammershøi.
