Art Deco lidded vase

Sold

Height 30 cm.
Approx. width with the handles 30 cm.

It is stamped G&C, Denmark, No. 41 and with a rooster.
Unusual and rare Danish piece of art deco handicraft.

The vase was made at Groos & Christensen in the 1930s in a bronze-like metal.
It is decorated with classic art deco motifs, the athletic man, a disco thrower and the winged horse, Pegasus on the other side.
The disco thrower is flanked by geometric ornaments and both motifs have a stylized floral vine above. All motifs are almost a different kind of metal laid down in the vase.
The vase has a classic stepped foot and pointed handles.

The lid vase has a natural patina and a few marks - please see the pictures.
Overall, the vase is in good condition.

We have never before seen Danish art deco handicrafts of this quality and even stamped.
