The boy with the splinter

Sold

Height 19 cm.
Beautifully carved statue of white marble with a few gray lines.

The figure is carved after the Roman model that stands on the Capitoline Museum in Rome.
It is unknown who the figure represents but it may be Gnaeus Martius who first stopped and peeled a splinter from his foot after delivering his important message to the Roman Senate.

It is in good condition with a little discoloration getting the back.
