Knitting ball in wood from the 1920's

Fine old turned container for a ball of yarn. You would use a knitting ball, like this one, to avoid the yarn from rolling along the floor and getting dirty.

The wooden ball is in turned and vein painted wood and with a drilled hole, in which is placed a mouth in dark bakelite. There is an old crack at the top.
