Frame of micromosaic from the 1900s

The picture can measure 4.5x3.5cm.
The use of mosaics dates back to 2500 years b.c. It was used to decorate walls under the Mesopotamian empire.

Later, the use became widespread, and it is often seen in churches and in Greek and Roman temples.

This special micromosaik was found in Italy in the early 1800s and was widely used after the excavation of Pompeii, under which was found extremely well-preserved mosaic floors and walls.

Each single glass rod is cut by hand and laid down in the picture frames' metal frame.
